For patients who struggle to attend appointments at the surgery during core hours, we offer enhanced access appointments outside of core General Practice hours, provided by the Northamptonshire GP Enhanced Access Service.
Appointments are available same day or pre-booked with a GP or other healthcare professional which can either be over the telephone or face-to-face, and clinics are run from Highfield Clinical Care Centre in Northampton.
When are appointments in my area available?
- 18:30 – 21:30 Monday to Friday
- 09:00 – 17:00 Weekends
- 10.30 – 13.30 Bank Holidays
What type of appointments are available?
Enhanced access offers a range of appointments such as;
- GP – Routine appointments and discussing test results
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Acute minor illness
- Nurses – Treatment area (dressings, injections, swabs, smears)
- HCAs – Minor treatment area (wound check, ECG, basic dressings)

How do I get an appointment?
Please call your usual GP surgery and ask the receptionist to book you an ENHANCED ACCESS APPOINTMENT.
The service may also be offered to you proactively if you are calling for a regular GP or nurse appointment (for nursing appointments, injections and dressings MUST be collected from the surgery and brought to your appointment).
Only patients who have an appointment will be seen.
This is NOT a walk-in service.
